W.H.E.N.

Women Helping Each Other Network

Mission Statement

To strategically help women birth out the dreams that lay dormant in their families, careers, finances, and spirituality.

Vision Statement

To gather together with women from all aspects of life to encourage and motivate each other with their personal and professional goals.

Ashona Smiley was born and raised in Paterson, New Jersey.  She is the founder of W.H.E.N. (Women Helping Each Other Network) W.H.E.N. was birthed out of a catastrophe. On March 24, 2012, Ashona had a house fire and broke her back and ankle. The diagnosis from the doctors was that she would never be able to walk again.  She was paralyzed, bedridden, a widow, a mother of a 1-year-old, a 4-year-old and a 10-year-old.

Instead of her becoming angry and bitter she started a Women’s Group in the basement of her house.  Women Helping Each Other started with three women, who diligently met once a week for two hours to eat, pray, and discuss goals for each other. As weeks passed, they formed relationships with others.  W.H.E.N supported the women with clothing, cosmetics, resumes, expungements, and credit repair.  Through meeting every week, the women learned to become more independent in handling issues that arise in their lives. W.H.E.N. gives women the motivation to want to live and be in God’s word as well.

Ashona goes throughout the tri-state area helping women with their careers, families, finances, relationships, and most of all their spirituality.  Her goal is to empower women to no longer allow their dreams to lay dormant.  She challenges women to get rid of all of their excuses, trust God, and put their best foot forward to fully recover all that was lost or taken.

Ashona ‘s motivational statement is “Life will sometimes deal you a hand that you think you are not prepared for.”  Thankfully, God teaches her how to play the hand. xsToday, she has been restored and truly has recovered. She has 3 beautiful children, Ya’zeir, Faith, and Trinity Francis. Her children learned at an early age how to build on broken pieces and today they are made whole. Hopefully, you are reading her bio and will learn to do the same.
